Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels during the flight.
This event isn't the initial instance that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to turn back to Washington after suffering a mechanical fault.
