FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
