Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.

The organization did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles

The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
