President Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump addressed journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community members came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in the capital.

Remembering Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Service plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the government to pause asylum applications and halt granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
