The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, including a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
