Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the sports world had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
